But When I Sing, I Forget Everything …

Every day, at work or play,

I can rarely get away,

So, instead, I sing my cares away.

Chorus

When I sing, I forget everything,

Very soon, my whole world is also dancing.

When my head is full of clutter,

The words of my favourite song, I start to mutter,

Then, suddenly, my heart’s a flutter.

Chorus

It seems that my heart is heavy and full of despair,

When there is noise and confusion everywhere,

I sing, to remind me that you are there.

Chorus

When all around me is out of key,

I hum to remind me, that sometime I may be free,

Out of the chains of a broken heart is all I wish to be.

Chorus … (repeat to fade).
