Beautiful Outside And In

All of my friends possess something inside,

That the world should shout about,

Not something to hide,

They’re all beautiful – leaves me open – eyed.

Chorus

Thank – you, one and all,

Names too many, that I cannot recall,

But you were there for me through it all …

All of my friends, have that quality,

To make you believe that you can be who you want to be,

Who make things clear when you cannot see,

Send a lifeboat, when you’re swimming in the sea.

Chorus

Give you a hand, to help you up,

Offer warmth in a simple tea – cup,

Even when there’s nothin’ much to do,

My friends always give me something to laugh about, too.

Chorus

They’re always there, when something needs fixing,

Aphno manche – in a world of social mixing,

When I feel their warm embrace,

Everything seems to fall into place.

Chorus

Some of them have different colour skin,

Some have a disability, some fat, some thin,

But all have beauty glowing within,

To give me a start, when I need to begin.

Chorus

Beauty, they say is in the eye of the beholder,

Some of them are young, some are older.

Even when sometimes, they cry on my shoulder,

Friendships like that don’t get any bolder.

Chorus

Things don’t begin, till they’re beautiful outside and in,

With friends like mine, you can only win ! … (repeat to fade)
