Bleak House

Alone in this house so bleak,

I can hear the floorboards creak,

Bleak house, with a mouse,

Spidery walls and bats all week.

Sat alone in the shadow of the love that was ours to share,

Going alone to bed, creeping up the stairs,

Looking out for spooks hiding beneath the chairs,

This is not a loving glance, simply one that ghostly stares.

A ghost of past and present ghoul,

Makes me feel like a lovesick fool …

What was that vision, in the corner of my eye ?

Images of you, ghostly pass by.

A smoky chimney, a fire gone out,

There’s nothing there, when I look about,

No answers, when I shout,

A breeze blows to the door, trying to get out.

But you’re not really there … you’re gone … gone …gone

Distant memories is all that I have to recall … shadowy images on the

wall … (repeat to fade).
