Never Make The Same Mistake Twice

Honey, loved you once before,

But, I’ll never make the same mistake once more,

As I walk out the door.

Playin’ for high stakes, said it was all a mistake,

Made as many misakes as it was possible to make,

Took as much as it was possible to take.

You told me I was the only one,

Don’t tell me twice, once is enough, hon,

Then you’re gone.

Once or twice, when we made love,

Moondust fell from the stars above,

Gave me an olive branch, just like a dove.

Once bitten, twice shy,

Asking questions, about why I cry,

Gettin’ by before we wave goodbye.

Twice I heard you say to me,

You’re as pretty as a gal can be,

I listened, but now much more impatiently.
