Dancin’ In The Rays Of The Sun

We first met at a disco,

Dancin’ under the spotlight, one night,

Your eyes glistened bright,

As I held you tight in the twilight.

But the time that we danced in the afternoon,

Was the dance that I liked best …

As in came the Moon.

Through the cracks in the curtains,

The Sun’s rays shone,

Illuminating your shadow, with nothing on.

We danced in the morning,

Across the hall,

The stained glass windows sparkled, I recall,

But it was your smile that lightened it all.

We danced by candlelight,

By our bed – it was quite a sight,

The light shone white,

And helped me remember the things we said.

We danced under the streetlamps in the rain,

Raindrops trickled off down the drain,

The neon lights in the cafe flashed again and again,

Splashing in puddles, the footsteps of our dance made a chain.

The Sun’s rays fade in a haze …

But I still remember those sunny dancin’ days … (repeat to fade).
