Dreamin’ Streamin’

Dropped a leaf in a stream,

It waved on sparklin’ waters,

And headed off in a gleam,

Don’t know where it landed,

There was no simple scheme,

The leaf got caught in a whirlpool,

Like me, it had no direction,

Just circled round, it seems.

I am that leaf, in your river dream,

Floatin’ endlessly, drifting on a stream,

A dragonfly passes by overhead,

And sips cool waters from the riverbed.

The waves lap, sometimes caught in your spidery trap,

Tryin’ to be with you, but you’re out of reach,

Sometimes resting on a sandy beach,

Crashin’ into driftwood, tryin’ to reach you as fast as I could,

The river rapids bubble and flow …

The waters are the engine that makes our love boat go.

But like that dragonfly, the wind blows me away,

Driftin’ in the breeze, I rock and sway.
