Greater Love Hath No Man Than This

Chorus

Greater love hath no man than this,

Wedded bliss or a loving kiss.

Can’t seem to decide what it is,

But man hath no greater love than this.

The greatest love, perhaps, for a king,

Would be a golden throne, on which to swing,

For his Queen, her love may be the greatest song to sing,

With the greatest love that it can bring.

For a painter, the greatest love would be, I know,

A set of colours, a paintbox, with all the colours of the

rainbow,

For a pianist, a perfect note,

For a sailor, a brand new boat.

Chorus

For a writer the greatest love may be,

A long romantic novel, better still, a whole library.

For a cook, enough food to forever dine,

For a priest, a golden chalice of wine.

The greatest love for a fairy would be,

A brand new wand, to do things extra – ordinairy,

For a prince a crown, a bow – tie for a clown,

For the jester, a new trick, that’s what the greatest love

would be.

Chorus … (repeat to fade).
