A Pauper, Yet Riches In My Heart

Babe, I’m a real poor guy,

Not a penny in my pocket,

If I haven’t got a car to take y’out,

It’s probably ‘cos the police have got it.

Babe, perhaps I should rob a bank ?

I’d probably, pick the wrong day, to be frank.

If I stole a treasure chest, probably lose the key to lock it,

Even if I had a credit card, the bank would probably block

it.

Chorus

But if you just say “yes”, one day,

That you’ll come out with me, far away,

I’ll take you to all the places,

You always wanted to go …

And show ya’ all the good lovin’ a poor boy can know.

So as you can see,

I’m just a poor boy, stuck in poverty,

I don’t blame you not wanting me,

Looking for a millionaire with plenty.

Givin’ you my heart’s not much, I know,

No diamond ring, no mansion, or so,

But, no – one loves you as much as I do,

You can feel it beating in my heart, right now.

Chorus

A beach in the Sun, a cool tide,

Even though I may not have any money,

I’ll still love you ever inch, as we ride.

Haven’t got a penny, looked everywhere … couldn’t find

any.
