Bistro Business

Seems like years ago, now,

When you first asked me,

Would you like to come out with me ?

I know a new place that’s opened down Tydlesley …

It was our first date,

Really hope you didn’t mind me being late.

It was a matter of Bistro business, I guess,

That left me reelin’ in happiness.

Tried so hard to concentrate on the menu,

But still couldn’t choose,

I guess, it was all because I was fallin’ in love with you,

As the piano quartet was singing the blues.

We went out for a meal,

You took me to the cinema, too,

You said the latest film, had real appeal.

Gradually, that night, I fell in love with you.

Though I had to leave by eleven,

I was surely, in seventh Heaven.

As our love began to grow,

Every week, thereafter,

You’d find us together at that Bistro,

Rollin’ around with laughter,

No wonder that my heart was a flutter,

As you picked up a rose, you found in the gutter.
